Responsibilities

– Perform structural analysis;
– Design of steel connections (welded/bolted) using software and/or hand calculations
– Write technical reports and Calculation Notes in technical English
– Review, check, and verify all structural drawings, and documents related to project
– Assist the project engineers during the preliminary studies, procurement, and installation
phases.

Knowledge / Qualifications

– Minimum 5 year experience in Offshore Oil & Gas, preferably on MODUs (Mobile Offshore Drilling Units)
– Engineering Master’s degree (Civil/Structural/Naval engineer) or other related
– Active user of STAAD PRO and Mathcad
– User of ANSYS WORKBENCH and/or FEMAP
– Knowledge of any programming language
– Understanding of related standards AISC, ABS, DNV, API-RP-2A, ASME
– Technical knowledge of steel fabrication
– Experience with Structural Analysis (Detailed Design) and / or Piping Stress Analysis, on MODUs upgrades / retrofits
– Experience with Steel Connection Design (Bolted, Welded, Clamped)
– Proficiency with CAESAR II and Wall Thickness Calculations (mandatory for piping profiles), AFT Fathom (preferred).
– General understanding of offshore drilling systems (MPD, C&K, IWOCS, Well Testing, etc.)

Experience on the design of equipment, in particular drilling equipment, is a plus.

Other Details:

Contract duration: 3-6 months (extendable)
Location: Jebel Ali Free Zone (Office)
Working schedule: 5 days (Mon-Fri), 8 am – 6 pm
Starting Date: end of June/Beginning of July
