Job summary

MISSION:

Responsible for assessing geological conditions, conducting risk assessments, and providing valuable insights for the successful planning and execution of the project.

TASKS:

  • Conducting thorough geological assessments of potential dam sites, considering factors such as soil composition, rock formations, and seismic activity;
  • Collaborating with engineering and environmental teams to evaluate site suitability and potential risks;
  • Performing geotechnical investigations, including soil and rock sampling, laboratory testing, and analysis to determine the foundation characteristics for dam construction;
  • Interpreting and presenting geological and geotechnical data to inform project decisions;
  • Conducting risk assessments related to geological factors, such as landslides, slope stability, and seismic risks, and propose mitigation strategies;
  • Providing recommendations for engineering designs that consider geological challenges;
  • Implementing monitoring programs to assess geological and geotechnical conditions during construction and operation phases;
  • Generating regular reports on geological aspects, keeping project stakeholders informed of any changes or concerns.
  • Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, environmental scientists, and project managers, to ensure integrated and comprehensive project planning.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience geological assessments, with a focus on dam projects;
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and proposing mitigation measures for dam projects;
  • Proficient in geotechnical software and data interpretation tools.

  • Location: NEOM, KSA;
  • Contract duration: 1 year;
  • Working schedule: 10 hours x 6 days;
  • Starting date: January 2024.
