Job Summary

As a PROJECT DIRECTOR you will be responsible for leading teams to deliver projects that span one or more business units.
The right person will manage resources, schedules, finance and adhere to control guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle. This also includes management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.
The person we are looking for should contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery. He/ she must be flexible with a proven ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities while having strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up and across multiple businesses and organizations.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • University Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional background environment
  • At least 3+ years of experience in full product lifecycle with an understanding of development lifecycle and various technology methodologies that support it
  • Proven experience in ONSHORE/ OFFSHORE preferably in the Middle East
  • Project management experience, including tracking and planning projects
  • Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs
  • Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve common business objectives
  • Technically skilled in various software programs
  • Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary
  • Experience in successfully leading projects and programs on time, as per schedule and within the defined budget
  • Experience leading, motivating and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate (both written and orally) to all management levels/ executive sponsors/ technical and non-technical staff
  • Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from executives, team members, stakeholders and peers
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Provide on-site leadership for the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
  • Strong experience in ONSHORE and OFFSHORE
  • Own the full project lifecycle from initiation to the deployment of all initiatives involved
  • Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and support directly the achievement of strategic objectives
  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
  • Prepare estimates and a detailed project plan for all phases of the project
  • Procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in a planned timeframe
  • Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources and lead the project management team meetings
  • Monitor staff performance and complete performance reviews
  • Provide reports related to project status, milestones and progressions
  • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs
  • Demonstrate a functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices
  • Manage project goals and changes
  • Participate and/ or drive studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders
  • Act as an internal quality control check for the project
  • Manage ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolutions
  • Assist in dispute, negotiation, negotiation or litigation, as needed
  • Develop and manage all aspects of the project from planning, looking after external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and potential issues
  • Set and continually manage both project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders
  • Build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build agreement and achieve common objectives
  • Research best practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data and use continuous process improvement disciplines to achieve results.
  • Holds regular and effective meetings with the Project departments, the team and clients
  • Keeps the Project team well informed of changes within the organization and about general corporate news
  • Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations
  • Resolves and/ or escalates issues timely and effectively
  • Understands how to communicate difficult/ sensitive information tactfully.
