Mission

Overseeing the design, operations & maintenance, repair of various types of rotating equipment used in industrial settings, such as pumps, compressors, turbines and different types of engines.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in Oil & Gas sector;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Designing and selecting the right type of equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines and generators for specific applications;
  • Designing and evaluating new equipment to ensure that it meets the required standards;
  • Overseeing the installation and commissioning of rotating equipment to ensure that it is installed correctly and operates efficiently;
  • Responsible for maintaining the equipment, troubleshooting issues and providing solutions to ensure that the equipment operates at optimal efficiency and availability;
  • Carrying out regular inspection and testing of equipment to detect any faults or potential problems before they cause downtime or damage to the equipment;
  • Ensuring that the equipment meets safety and environmental regulations and that it operates in compliance with these regulations;
  • Maintaining accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs and inspections.
  • Preparing reports on equipment performance, maintenance schedules and budget requirements;
  • Responsible for the regional safety culture within the engineering team aligned with the Client’s values;
  • Responsible for promoting cross-functional alignment in the Angola region;
  • Accountable for the performance of assigned equipment classes;
  • Responsible for the equipment strategies for assigned equipment classes;
  • Responsible for the development of specific equipment strategies where necessary and optimized PMs/PdMs;
  • Responsible for developing and updating the technical content of specific equipment strategies and maintenance plans in response to performance feedback from the field;
  • Accountable for ensuring that specific equipment maintenance plans are entered and used in the CMMS system as originally intended;
  • Responsible for defect investigations/elimination on assigned equipment classes when requested;
  • Responsible for performing reliability analysis on the assigned equipment using system trends, surveillance data and condition monitoring data, establishing appropriate performance metrics;
  • Responsible for developing critical equipment repair procedures and sparing strategy for assigned equipment classes;
  • Responsible for providing technical input and expertise into training materials and Operator Basic Care procedures for assigned equipment classes;
  • Responsible for participating in the appropriate engineering community of practice for their equipment discipline and sharing lessons learned;
  • Responsible for ensuring personal competency development tasks are completed;
  • Review the Maintenance activity plan & schedule and provide input to TAR Planning and Scheduling Process;
  • Plan activities in compliance with the Work Readiness Assurance Gate Criteria and attend Activity Integration and Scheduling meetings to provide assurances on gate compliance (8Q/12W/6W/2W);
  • Complete Deep Dive Sessions along with key internal and external stakeholders to provide assurance on job readiness;
  • Executing maintenance work scopes ensuring vendors are fully aligned with expectations of quality and performance;
  • Monitoring and supporting offshore execution, leading internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful completion of the work scopes;
  • Leading After Action Reviews including key internal and external stakeholders, as necessary;
  • Assisting, when requested, the Maintenance Planner in obtaining information to build routine task job-plans;
  • Reviewing Preventative Maintenance Rotine (PMR) content for correctness to ensure activity optimization;
  • Pro-actively supporting schedulers with the identification and re-scheduling/ resourcing of potential and overdue maintenance activities;
  • Identifying gaps in critical spares and ensuring Materials Management are aware of any shortfall;
  • Learning from operations & maintenance experience and share learning’s in pursuit of improvement programme;
  • Initiating / Reviewing Management of Change, where required.
  • Identifying, recommending and implementing risk-reduction activities for the RE discipline;
  • Defining and delivering the Self-Verification of owned Engineered Barriers and Performance Standards.
  • Maintaining the right suite of discipline engineering tools available to the discipline;
  • Assuring quality and consistency of surveillance across blocks/Assures accurate reporting of excursions;
  • Supporting HAZOP and LOPA revalidation program;
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on discipline-owned critical document updates including P&ID, PFD, Operating Procedures, cause and effects;
  • Acting as a focal point for the improvement of one or more equipment classes assigned to the role;
  • Developing short- and long-term strategies for an equipment class, focusing on strategic goals and implementation steps for continued improvement of equipment performance;
  • Acting as a technical consultant for the development of optimum preventative maintenance procedures and schedules, improvement of equipment repair reports and content requirements, evaluation of constructability and maintainability, identifying issues that need management intervention for resolution;
  • Assuring system is in place to identify and evaluate performance feedback from the field, serving as a network point contact for rotating engineering issues pertaining to the specific equipment class.
