Provide Project Manager, Lead Engineers and Functional Manager (including but not limited to HR) scheduling and resourcing scenarios by effectively optimizing the management of portfolios of projects and people with P6.
To provide schedules from summary to detailed level which optimize expenditure of time and resource utilization.
To provide regular project reports on current status of projects.
To identify areas of concern and subsequent recovery action by working with Lead Engineer(s), Project Engineering Manager, Project Engineer(s), Interface / Workshare Coordinator and/or Project Manager(s) where and when required to minimize adverse trends.
Ability to work with zero supervision to complete own tasks.
Computer literate and competent with the use of commonly used office software and the ability to develop specialist software relevant to the discipline. E.g. progress monitoring databases.
Proactive and self starter. Applies the full range of communication and presentation skills required.
Convenes and leads the schedule review meetings at a frequency as required by the Project Manager. Reviews each discipline progress and deviation from plan and works with the project team to establish mitigation options.
Maintains schedule resources, reviews engineering, procurement,contracts and construction reported progress, prepares area progress curves and manpower histograms, prepares progress and manpower forecasts and reports for assigned WBS’s
Reporting of weekly physical progress (versus plan)
Weekly / Monthly report input – reporting of weekly / monthly accomplishments plans for next period, areas of concern and mitigation’s.
Meets with customer / subcontractors when required to discuss schedule related concerns, explains schedule logic and describe critical path and then provides the customer / subcontractors with requested information where and when required
Undertake resource loading of schedules in order to produce manpower histograms and Planned “S” curve.
Prepare schedules to reflect the work to be undertaken in line with the required Work Breakdown Structure
Prepare and update on a weekly basis a Progress Calculation Report using progress databases
Undertake calculation of progress and productivity statistics
Assist Project Management in developing corrective action.
In consultation with Project Engineer, update the trend register on a weekly basis.
Undertake ad hoc reviews and analysis as directed by Project Manager.
- Qualification: Engineering Degree / Diploma
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years planning experience working within an engineering office environment. Experience of multi discipline projects within the Oil and Gas contracting industry is essential and construction site work a benefit. Must have a good knowledge of engineering / construction procedures and interfaces between all disciplines Expert knowledge and experience of Primavera P6.
Duration: 24 months
Schedule: 10 hrs a day, 6 day a week
