Job summary
Mission
Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating all process safety works, including best practices of conventional engineering and solving complex risk and safety design issues.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
- Chemical degree preferred or similar discipline with a minimum of 5 years associated experience in an oilfield service or manufacturing environment;
- Experience working within QHSE management, systems and processes environment;
- Proficient knowledge of process safety & technological risks;
- Experience working in HAZID & HAZOP sessions (as leader);
- Proficient knowledge of permitting & process aspects for main facilities modifications.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
- Executes process safety engineering major deliverables according to a set engineering design criteria utilizing approved engineering procedures and practices;
- Prepares, coordinates and reviews designs, studies, and reports;
- Takes the initiative to coordinate the design development of a system/project with other engineering disciplines while managing workload and meeting schedule due dates;
- Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and/or difficult coordination requirements;
- Plans, coordinates or prepares equipment or work specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations for equipment;
- Coordinates engineering efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors and between other groups;
- Assists in on-the-job-training of assigned personnel and provides input for their performance evaluations;
- Prepares letters to vendors and clients;
- Reviews bid analyses and makes recommendation;
- Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals;
- Performs or assists in the performance of problem analysis and original design;
- Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders;
- Reviews and checks work of engineers team.
