Job summary
MISSION:
- Responsible for access paths, issuing permits for shunting and securing track work;
- Responsible for managing traffic anomalies and exceptions , such as the rescue authority and other operators.
TASKS:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive strategies for efficient and safe traffic management across railway networks, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and safety standards;
- Supervising the operations of the control room, overseeing the coordination of train movements, dispatching, and monitoring of signals and communications systems;
- Collaborating with scheduling teams to develop and optimize train timetables, considering factors such as network capacity, customer demand, and maintenance requirements;
- Establishing and leading emergency response protocols, ensuring swift and effective action in the event of incidents or disruptions to railway services;
- Implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and report on the efficiency and punctuality of railway services;
- Analyzing data to identify areas for improvement;
- Ensuring compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and relevant standards in all traffic and control activities;
- Fostering effective communication with various stakeholders, including rail operators, maintenance teams, regulatory bodies, and local authorities;
- Leading and mentoring a team of traffic controllers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Management, Engineering, or a related field;
- 15+ years of experience in traffic management in the Railway sector;
- Proficiency in railway traffic control systems, signaling, and communications technologies;
- Strong knowledge of railway operations, scheduling, and emergency response procedures;
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills;
- Fluent level of written and spoken Romanian and English languages.
